Seeking opinion on a good 24" Monitor

Hi Guys,

I am looking for a new Monitor for both Video Editing and Gaming.
Overwhelmed by the sheer number of models and options I thought I would ask for advice.

Due to space constraints the size needs to be 24" for wall mounting. Flat screen.
My GPU is an ASUS GeForce RTX 2060 OC 6G GDDR6 EVO Edition with HDMI DisplayPort and DVI.

I would like a refresh rate of 144Hz and above.
FHD, (would 4K be sensible in a monitor this size?)
G-Sync or Adaptive Stnc.
Do you think 10-Bit color is important? My output is more "artistic" than "industry" level.

My budget would hover generously around $450 - $600 US or so. (but I'm in Australia where $600 US is AUD $850)

Any help to narrow my choices would be greatly appreciated. If you can't vouch personally for monitors this small, (understandable!) perhaps advise on brands you could stand by. I am really not experienced enough with monitors to know.

I wouldn't go for a 4k Monitor at 24" size unless the software you're using is known to do solid display scaling without any blurry icons / menus, and generally supports it.

A good compromise for 10bit are monitors that achieve it through FRC. They are not quite as accurate as true 10bit color monitors but considerably cheaper.

The ASUS ROG Swift PG259QN, 24.5" or MSI Optix MAG251RX, 24.5" come to mind.

Following the reviews I was impressed with Asus, they seem to lead the field in many ways at this product level. They are a favorite brand of
mine in most other parts too.

I gave the subject more thought and decided I could find a tiny bit more space to allow looking at 27" as feasable. This gave a lot more scope and realizing I seem to own Monitors for more than a decade, I felt I should really invest in something more game-changing for me.

So I've ordered an ASUS XG279Q 27inch ROG Strix IPS G-Sync WQHD 170Hz. This is a 2K monitor, so 2560x1440. Reviewed by Rtings, it has all the goodies for excellent gaming and very good credentials for media creation with good SDR color gamut and color volume. The trade offs are poor black uniformity and low contrast ratio.

It's been so long since my last monitor purchase, I'm sure it will be mind-blowing.
