Hi, I am a first timer for building a PC so I am very inexperienced in all of this. The software that I use is Adobe Premiere Pro. Also this build is slightly over my budget, which is £1000 (approx $1250-&1300). So I hope that there aren't any parts that would be necessary to upgrade and pay more for.
I want the PC to be my main general computer for the long term, but I am also a film student so I would like it to be good when it comes to editing on Premiere. For a project I'm working on now, my current laptop (ACER Nitro 5 i5 GTX 1050 Gaming Laptop 256 SSD), takes hours rendering. Even without any effects, the playback buffers a lot. And with effects/colour, it is almost unwatchable making my editing process impossible.
Also to note, I don't plan on shooting and editing in 4k, but I wouldn't mind the pc being able to just about handle it, just in case I happen to try it out on rare occasions. Also, the pc being able to handle 8k is unnecessary.
I do like to mess around a lot with effects, colour etc so I was hoping the PC could cope with this when it comes to rendering and playback.
I have a friend who edits similarly to me and he uses an Apple M1 Chip with 8-Core CPU & GPU, 256GB. He tells me that his editing process is completely perfect in all aspects (but I don't know how much this has to do with the M1 or Final Cut).
However, as I'd have to to swap to Final Cut which I'm not used to, as well as to a Mac in general which I would prefer not having as my long term general computer, I don't think I would be going for this. But this M1 costs only £699 (around $556), which is over 2x cheaper than the build I have created is.
So I wanted to know, first if the build would be good for my desires when it comes to editing on Premiere Pro.
Second, if I have selected certain parts that may be unnecessarily advanced for my desires
Third, similar to the prior one - But I wanted to know if there were any ways I could go about on lowering the cost of it without it affecting the overall performance too much.
And lastly, are there any suggestions for an alternate power supply, as this is the only part that is unavailable for me in the UK.
